A 39-year-old man, who was diagnosed with a kidney infection five months ago, took his wife on a “long drive” on Monday night and shot her dead before turning the gun on himself, police said.
The bodies of Vinod Chaudhary and his wife Deepak (36) were found near their white S-Cross in Madhuban Bapudham on Tuesday morning. Both had bullet wounds in their heads and a gun lay near Vinod’s hand.
Originally from Roorkee, Vinod left his job at a private firm a few years ago and earned his income from farmland in his village. Police said the couple had two children – a son and daughter in their teens.
Kunwar Gyananjay Singh, DCP (city), said Vinod and Deepak left home in their car around 10.30pm on Monday and told others in the family they were going on a drive.
