rains lashed mid and lower hills in Himachal while state’s upper reaches witnessed snow for the second consecutive day, plunging many areas into darkness, blocking roads and throwing life out of gear on Thursday.
Shimla town also received season’s first snowfall on Thursday. According to Shimla meteorological centre, by afternoon, it had snowed four inches in Dalhousie, two inches in Bharmour, and 10 inches in Chamba’s Pangi. In Kangra district, Bara Bhangal received 12 inches of snow, whereas Bir Billing recorded five inches and Triund four inches of snow.
It snowed 5.2 inches in Kalpa, five inches each in Chitkul and Sangla in Kinnaur district. In Manali, it snowed over 15 inches and Jalori Jot in Kullu district received seven inches of snow.
