IPL 2024, DC vs CSK: MS Dhoni won the ‘Electric Striker of the Match award’ for hitting 3 sixes and 4 boundaries in a vintage MS Dhoni special that went in vain. Delhi won the match by 20 runs but Chennai fans were jubiliant watching their former captain smash it into the stands in Vizag.
Sakshi Singh echoed the emotions of millions of Chennai fans after MS Dhoni wound back the clock, coming up with a sensational cameo in CSK’s 20-run loss to Delhi in an IPL 2024 match in Vizag on Sunday, March 31. Dhoni’s wife took to Instagram to share her thoughts on the former CSK captain winning the best strike of the match award for his 16-ball 37 which ended in vain as Delhi successfully defended 191 in Visakhapatnam, their makeshift home in the new season.
MS Dhoni walked out to bat at No. 8 when CSK were down and out. After a poor powerplay in which they managed just 32 runs and lost captain Ruturaj Gaikwad and flamboyant opener Rachin Ravindra, Ajinkya Rahane’s quick 45 and Daryl Mitchell’s handy 34 helped them stay in the contest. However, Mukesh Kumar, with a brilliant middle-overs spell, turned it around for the Capitals as he dismissed the likes of Rahane, dangerous Shivam Dube and Sameer Rizvi.
