A day after his late night arrest, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday, 22 March, was remanded to the custody of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for six days by a Delhi court. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief was arrested by the ED on Thursday, 21 March, in connection with the alleged Delhi liquor excise policy scam.
Kejriwal’s arrest came just hours after the Delhi High Court had refused to grant any interim protection from coercive action to the AAP chief. He was reportedly arrested under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002.
