Salasar Balaji temple, situated in the Churu district of Rajasthan is a very old and famous temple of Lord Hanuman. Devotees from all over the world visit this temple and get their wishes fulfilled. While the temple is famous for several various reasons, one of the most interesting facts about Salasar Dham is the idol of Lord Hanuman.
The chariot in which the idols were brought is still established in the temple premises.
Mohandas had lit a fire some 300 years back, which is still igniting and is popularly known as “Dhuni”. It is believed that visiting the dhuni and taking ashes from there can relieve the devotees from all their sorrows.
Mohandas had taken a “Jivit Samadhi” in the temple and it is a tradition that before visiting the temple, devotees pay their homage at this samadhi.
This is the only Hanuman temple where the idol shows the adult form of Hanuman Ji with beard and moustache.
