In a surprise development, Sharad Pawar has invited Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde and his two deputies Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar over lunch at his Baramati residence on Saturday.
The invite is being seen as a move to blunt the impact that Pawar senior’s estranged nephew, Ajit Pawar, plans to generate by announcing projects for Baramati Lok Sabha constituency that he wants to wrest from his cousin, Supriya Sule.
“This is your (Eknath Shinde) first visit to Baramati after becoming CM and I invite you and other members of your cabinet to my ‘Govindbaug’ residence for a meal,” Pawar said in the invite, marking copies to Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar.
